Shawnee instructor named teacher of year

Shawnee Community College photo.</p><p class="p2">Shawnee Community College professor Sherrie Malone has been honored as the 2015 Illinois Business Education Association, IBEA, post-secondary teacher of the year. </p><p class="p2">Malone has been a business instructor at the college for the past 17 years.</p><p class="p2">Malone is active in national and local professional organizations, serving on many committees, including Southern Illinois Business Education Association secretary and as an IBEA affiliate representative. </p><p class="p2">In 2014, Malone was honored as the Southern Illinois Business Education Association teacher of the year.</p><p class="p2">“After 24 years of teaching in the field of business education, I am super excited to receive this state award," Malone said.  </p><p class="p2">"I will always remember it as one of my greatest career achievements."</p>
