Cobden improves to 17-8 with two recent victories
The Cobden High School boys’ basketball team won twice last week.
Cobden 50, Chester 34: The Appleknockers took a first quarter lead on their way to the win at the Pinckneyville Shootout Saturday, Feb. 1.
Joe Brumleve led the way for Cobden with 20 points.
Dylan Lewey added 10 points, Noah Franklin 6, Alex Remsey and Jose Lopez 5 apiece and Tyler Franklin 2.
Cobden 59, Century 33: The visiting Appleknockers spoiled the Centurions’ homecoming festivities with a South Egyptian Conference win Tuesday, Jan. 28.
Brumleve led the way for Cobden with 16 points.
Noah Franklin added 15 points, Lewey 11, Remsey 10, Lopez 3 and Tyler Franklin and Edwin Funes 2 apiece.
Cobden, 17-8, is scheduled to play at home Friday in a conference matchup with Egyptian. The Appleknockers play again Saturday at West Frankfort.
