Cobden Legion baseball team 1-1 in recent play
The Cobden American Legion baseball team split in recent action.
Cobden 7, Benton 6: Cody Wieseman was 3-for-5 with 3 RBIs to lead visiting Cobden to the win Monday, June 26.
Alex Ramsey was 3-for-4 with 2 RBIs for Cobden. Clayton Flamm was 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs.
Chandler West was 1-for-2. Brayden Clark and Zane Nance were each 1-for-3. Landon Britt was 1-for-4. Bryce Reynolds was 1-for-5.
Nance, Josh Burgess and West pitched in the win. Nance pitched 3 innings and allowed 4 hits to go with 3 strikeouts and 2 walks. Burgess pitched 2 innings and didn’t allow a hit to go with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts. West pitched 3 innings and didn’t allow a hit to go with a walk and 5 strikeouts.
Cobden stranded 13 base runners in the win.
Goreville 6, Cobden 5: Host Cobden, which stranded 9 runners, led 5-2 before Goreville rallied in the come-from-behind win Monday, June 19.
Reynolds was 1-for-2 to lead Cobden. Britt and Nance were each 1-for-3 with an RBI apiece. Clark was 1-for-4. Wieseman and West each had an RBI apiece.
West and Bayden Ditterline pitched in the loss. West pitched 5 innings and allowed 3 hits to go with 5 walks and 6 strikeouts. Ditterline pitched 2 innings and allowed 4 hits to go with no walks and 2 strikeouts.
