Cross country program could return at A-JCHS

Matt Denny is interested in bringing cross country back to the Anna-Jonesboro Community High School.

Denny attended the June 19 A-JCHS District No. 81 Board of Education meeting. 

Denny said he told board members that he wants to be a volunteer coach for the cross country team and that he has others who are interested in volunteering as well. 

The cross country program at A-J was cancelled several years ago.

The planned practice sessions will be held at the Lick Creek School, where he is the junior high school cross country coach. 

Denny said that A-J track coach Michael Eudy said he would provide uniforms for the team.

Denny is also the girls’ high school basketball coach at A-J.

Denny said he should know in a couple of weeks if his request to coach the program is accepted by the board.
