A-J baseball team 1-2 in recent action
The Anna-Jonesboro Community High School baseball team was 1-2 in recent action.
Massac County 7, A-J 2: Blake Klett was 3-for-4 with a double and 2 RBIs to lead the visiting Wildcats in the loss Thursday, May 5.
Isaac Pender and Jake Wright were each 1-for-2. Sean Plott and Brayden Benefield were each 1-for-3. Bryce Osman and Carson Reynolds were both 1-for-4.
Caleb Clover had a stolen base.
Collin Prather and Osman pitched in the loss. Prather pitched 4 innings and allowed 5 hits to go with a walk and no strikeouts. Osman pitched 2 innings and allowed a hit to go wth a walk and 3 strikeouts.
Zeigler-Royalton 6, A-J 1: Prather was 2-for-2 with a stolen base and an RBI to lead the visiting Wildcats in the non-conference loss Wednesday, May 4. Plott and Wright were each 1-for-3 for A-J.
Hunter Ralls and Plott pitched in the loss. Ralls pitched 5 innings and allowed 3 hits to go with a walk and 4 strikeouts. Plott pitched an inning and gave up no hits to go with a walk and 2 strikeouts.
A-J 7, Shawnee 3: Pender was 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs to lead visiting A-J to the non-conference win Tuesday, May 3.
Benefield and Osman were each 2-for-4. Prather was 1-for-4 with a home run and 2 RBIs. Clover added an RBI.
Eli Baltzell was 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs to lead the Redskins. Dylan Boston had a stolen base.
Pender was the winning pitcher with a two-hitter to go with 5 walks and 4 strikeouts.
Nick Crane was the losing pitcher, allowing 7 hits to go with 4 walks and 8 strikeouts.
