A-J baseball wins three games
The Anna-Jonesboro Community High School baesball team posted a 3-1 record in recent action.
Du Quoin 8, A-J 3: Ethan Krumrey was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI to lead visiting A-J in the Southern Illinois River-to-River Conference Mississippi Division loss Friday, April 20.
Bryce Osman was 2-for-4 for the Wildcats. Hunter Ralls was 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI. Jackson Laster was 1-for-2. Kyle Clover was 1-for-3. Ross Pinnon was 1-for-4 with an RBI. Conner Jerolds was 1-for-4.
Ralls was the losing pitcher, scattering 6 hits to go with a walk and 8 strikeouts.
A-J 12, Cobden 2: Osman was 2-for-4 with a double, stolen base and 3 RBIs to lead visiting A-J in the non-conference win Thursday, April 19.
Krumrey was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Jerolds was 2-for-4. Sheldon McGrath was 1-for-3 with a stolen base and 2 RBIs. Blake Pena and Clover were each 1-for-3. Ralls was 1-for-4 with a triple and 4 RBIs. Pinnon had an RBI and 2 stolen bases.
Pena and Clover pitched in the win. Pena pitched 1/3 of an inning and didn’t allow a hit, strikeout or walk. Clover pitched 5 2/3 innings and allowed 5 hits to go with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts.
A-J 15, Egyptian 5: Osman was 4-for-4 with a home run and 6 RBIs to lead the host Wildcats in the non-conference win Wednesday, April 18.
Jerolds was 4-for-5 with an RBI. McGrath was 3-for-4 with a triple, stolen base with 2 RBIs. Krumrey was 3-for-5 with a triple and 2 RBIs. Wyatt Johnson was 1-for-4 with a double, stolen base and an RBI. Pinnon was 1-for-4 with an RBI. Ralls had an RBI.
Dalton Goddard, Laster and Jerolds combined to pitch a 6 hitter to go with 4 walks and 6 strikeouts.
A-J 12, Pinckneyville 7: Ralls was 2-for-2 with 2 RBIs to lead the host Wildcats to the win Tuesday, April 17.
Osman was 1-for-1 with a triple, a stolen base and 3 RBIs. Goddard was 1-for-2 with 2 RBIs. Johnson and Pinnon were each 1-for-2 with an RBI apiece. Clover was 1-for-4 with a stolen base and 2 RBIs. McGrath was 1-for-4. Krumrey was 1-for-5.
Krumrey, Clover and Pinnon pitched in the win, combining on 10 hits to go with 6 walks and 6 strikeouts.
A-J, 10-7 and 5-2 in the conference, is scheduled to play Monday at home against West Frankfort.
