To steal a column title from The Gazette-Democrat: Please Read This:

I would like to thank everyone who supported my effort and who shared with me their pride at the way my recent success at the IHSA swim finals represented Anna-Jonesboro Community High School, Union County and Southern Illinois.

I especially thank Jay Newton and Howard Harris, who were my “main” coaches.

Mr. Skinner of The Gazette-Democrat did not have to publish articles about the sport I love, but he did.

Thank you for doing that.
