Task force seizes illegal substances

Officers with the Southern Illinois Drug Task Force on Nov. 17 executed a search warrant at Brown Bag Video in McClure.

The search warrant was the result of a nine-month investigation by  the  task  force  into the sale of K-2, “bath salts” and other designer products containing illegal substances.

As a result of the search, officers seized  thousands of packets of these products. 

A subsequent search at the residence  of  an  employee of the video store resulted in the addition of over 1,000 additional packets being seized. 

A news release from the task force stated that Sean Davis, 23, of McClure, was arrested   during   the   detail   for  possession  of  cannabis  and  drug paraphernalia.

Assisting  on  the  search  warrant  detail were officers with the Illinois State  Police, Alexander County Sheriff’s Department and Southeast Missouri Drug Task Force.
