Teacher seeks support online for Dongola music program

<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Dongola School District No. 66 music teacher Rebecca Gray once again is going online to ask for funds to help her music program flourish. </span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Last year, Gray made a profile on DonorsChoose.org for new music stands. She was successful in obtaining funding for the stands.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">This year, she is asking for help to fund new percussion instruments. </span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Currently, Gray has five functioning marching instruments and 12 percussionists. </span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Gray said on the page: “By donating to this project, you are helping to bridge the deep gap between ‘getting by’ and ‘going places.’”</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">The goal is to raise $6,203 to purchase a snare drum, a snare drum carrier, a bass drum carrier, a marching tom set, four bass drums and a tenor carrier with back bar. </span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">As of Friday, Feb. 12, there were 15 donors, but $5,101 was still needed to reach the goal.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">To donate or for more information, visit http://www.donorschoose.org/rebecca.gray.</span></p>
