Union County man charged with burglary

A Union County man faces multiple charges in connection with his alleged involvement in several local burglaries.

Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds said charges have been filed against Larry Gibbs Jr. of Jonesboro.

Gibbs is charged in connection with burglaries at Big Creek Baptist Church in the Balcom area south of Anna and Lockard Chapel Baptist Church in the Berryville area west of Jonesboro.

Gibbs also is charged in connection with a burglary at AJ Lawn and Garden in Anna.

Edmonds said Gibbs is charged with three counts of burglary and three counts of theft.

Union County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Larry Clover took Gibbs into custody Friday, May 15. Gibbs was arrested following an investigation by the sheriff’s department.

Gibbs is being held at the Tri-County Detention Center in Ullin on $100,000 bond.

A preliminary hearing in the case is set for 9 a.m. June 2 in Union County Circuit Court in Jonesboro.
