Wasting tax dollars
To the editor,
I am agreement with Ms. Sather's opinion in the Nov. 18 issue of your paper regarding the inefficiency of Medicare in preventing waste of our tax dollars.
Last February I had an accident requiring medical equipment in my home.
I returned unused materials for credit approved in advance, but the supplier failed to give credit for those materials.
After numerous phone calls to Medicare requiring long waits and specific details, it is still unresolved.
My last call was to an employee of the supplier who may take care of it.
Medicare and my insurance company paid the total bill, but much of that money should have stayed in Medicare to further delay it from going broke.
Signed, Ben Cauble, Munford, Tenn.
