Wildcats 49, Fairfield 36

Jordan Adams scored 14 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, to lead Anna-Jonesboro to a 49-36 win over Fairfield in first-round action at the 45th annual Eldorado holiday high school boys’ basketball tournament Saturday, Dec. 26.

Tylor Duckworth scored 12 points for the Wildcats, including 8 in the final quarter. He added 10 rebounds.

J.R. Woodward added 9 points, Brady Wright 7,  Cody Livesay 4 and Gabe Pecord 3.

A-J led 12-9 after one quarter and was on top 21-16 at the half. The Wildcats led 33-19 after three periods.

The Wildcats were 15 of 32 in shot attempts from the floor, 4 of 11 from 3-point range and 7 of 12 from the free throw line.

A-J had 6 turnovers to the Mules’ 14.

A-J, which improved to  6-5 overall, was to have played Massac County earlier this week in the tournament. The Patriots advanced with a 63-48 win over West Frankfort.
