Students share what Christmas means to them

Rusty's Home Center in Anna again this year invited local students to share their thoughts about what Christmas means to them. Third grade students at Union County schools wrote about the special holiday. Those chosen to have the best entries each received a six-foot stocking filled with all kinds of toys. This year's winning entries follow.

By Alex Heath,

Lick Creek

Jingle Bells, jingle bells, jingle all the Way. Hey, that is what Christmas means to me. I like giving joy to people, my family, and Santa Claus.

Pana hosts A-J in second round of 3A playoffs

Pana High School football coach Al Stupek knows something about the River-to-River Conference Mississippi Division teams.

"Du Quoin beat us 40-7 last year in the first round," Stupek said. ""It gave us an opportunity to see the level of play and competition in that conference."
