Two Southern Illinois men are in custody as suspects in the murder of a rural Dongola man.

Union County State's Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds and Union County Sheriff David Livesay announced on Saturday, Oct. 31, that Tommy E. Reams, 27, of Dowell, and Michael S. Ellis, 26, of Elkville, had been charged in connection with the death of Gerald Dziczkowski, 57, of rural Dongola.

Dziczkowski was found dead at his home on the evening of Oct. 22.

Reams faces two counts of first degree murder and one count of home invasion.

Recently a friend of mine invited me to have lunch at the Sunshine Inn in Anna.

I went, but really wasn't expecting much in terms of a meal.

After all, for a senior like me, over 60, the cost of the meal was only $2.75.

But what a surprise when I discovered that lunch was a full meal!

We were served a main dish, two side dishes, dinner roll, dessert and a beverage.

What surprised me the most, though, was how truly delicious the meal was!

Livesay announced Tuesday that federal, state and local law enforcement officers operating under the newly introduced Operation FASTEN Initiative served arrest warrants on 15 individuals early this morning in connection with an ongoing investigation of burglaries and stolen firearms.
